This first part of the news will be a rant.  This will be the only post I make in regards to the octuplets’ mother since I feel that writing any more about her places me in the same category with the rest of the people calling attention to her.  Which is exactly what this woman wants.  What we should be doing is locking her up in a psychiatric unit ignoring this woman and placing her children in homes where they will receive proper treatment and the attention they need.  When someone says they wanted to have a large family because of the loneliness of their childhood, they are disturbed what they really need is therapy not to reproduce.

Jessica Gottlieb’s post on this subject helps to express part of what I want to say.  But as someone who wanted to work as an embryologist and help people have babies (the deal breaker was thinking I would have to help people like Nadya Suleman get pregnant), I find it hard to even begin to express how nutty this is.  But here are some things I would like to point out:

  • Dr. Michael Kamrava who enabled her to have 8 children at once by implanting these embryos should be forced to support her and these children.  Why should she get a free ride off us taxpayers?  And everyone who lives in another state that is upset by Californians being pissed about this, can come trade places with my family and pay taxes to support the Suleman family.  I want out of the People’s Republic of California anyways.
  • It was her decision to get pregnant, since she cannot naturally, due to biological problems.  This is not the case of some woman who accidentally got pregnant, this was planned and intentional.
  • If she was able to carry out her pregnancies I imagine she is not disabled to the extent that she cannot work (I would like to get an answer as to who in the hell at Metropolitan State Hospital signed off on her continuing to get disability from work, when she was off getting pregnant?).
  • And while Nadya Suleman feels that her getting food stamps and other government aid is not “welfare”, despite what the second entry from the dictionary tells us, I at least feel that it is not in her children’s welfare, first definition entry, that she have fourteen of them.

I feel like this is part of the straw that broke the camel’s back.  I think it is official, this once wonderful nation and the rest of the world is degrading into bedlam.  Some of the headlines, or headline worthy news, lately has been either frightening or completely ridiculous, you decide for yourself how to categorize the following:

I could keep going but instead I am going to push my new article, Genetically Engineered Animals and Your Family’s Diet, at ECP.
